Nautical Technology Consultants AS (NTC) was established in 1993 and has a business strategy that focuses on enhanced efficiency of marine operations and navigational safety at sea.
The key in our business is to deliver and maintain solutions that utilise state-of-the-art technologies in a way that provides the users with the key information required to assist in safely and efficiently planning the nautical operation. User-friendliness and simplicity in man-machine interfaces of our software products are essential to ensure the system solutions will be widely used on board.
Our fields of expertise include integrated navigation systems, offshore positioning systems, collision and grounding avoidance systems, ship steering and manoeuvring, environmental loads on ships and offshore structures, safety procedures and quality control. Our customers are largely ship owners, ship management companies and oil-service companies.
Board of Directors
Mr Atle Jacobsen
Mr Atle Jacobsen is Chairman of the Board. He is a fully trained merchant ship navigational officer and holds a university degree at Masters level in Nautical Science. His practical marine experience includes various commissions and posts on board naval, merchant and offshore vessels. Mr Jacobsen has extensive senior-level experience with integrated navigational systems for offshore positioning. He has served in senior management positions in global upstream offshore service companies for several years. Mr Jacobsen is co-founder and CEO of Wavefield Inseis ASA which is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
Dr Egil Pedersen
Dr Egil Pedersen is founder and CEO. He is a fully trained merchant ship navigational officer and holds a doctoral degree in Nautical Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. His practical marine experience includes various positions on board ocean going fishing vessels and marine seismic surveying vessels. He has international engineering and research experience and has published a number of scientific articles and technical papers within the fields of navigational safety at sea and the operational efficiency of nautical operations. Dr Pedersen is Professor of Marine Technology (specialization Nautical Science) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
